In August 02, 2017 an Express Entry draw took place, the last Express Entry draw was in July 12, 2017. In the August 02, 2017 draw there were 3,264 candidates in the pool receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence. The candidates who were invited had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 441 or more.
The Express Entry system allows candidates to enter into a pool of potential people who will receive an ITA. After entering the pool, candidates are given a CRS score in accordance to such factors as education, work experience, language ability, and other factors. This score establishes their position in the pool. During periodic draws, IRCC issues ITAs to the highest-ranking candidates. Those candidates who receive an ITA may submit an application for Canadian permanent resident status.
The candidates who have received an ITA will have to submit a complete application to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) in order for their application to be processed and final determination to be made.[1]
The August 02, 2017’s draw brings the total number of ITAs issued since Express Entry was launched in 2015 to 122,596. Statistics show that approximately half (54,487) of the ITAs have been issued in 2017 only.[2] The boost in ITAs in 2017 shows that Express Entry has become the main avenue for many applicants who want to come to Canada through economic immigration.
